Eligibility Criteria
Income
BC students with a family income of less than ₹1,50,000/- in rural areas and ₹2,00,000/- in urban areas per annum, from all sources, are eligible. For employed applicants, a salary certificate from the employer is mandatory. Income certificates must be obtained through MEE SEVA, and applicants should include a copy of their latest tax assessment and monthly salary slip.
Age
Applicants should not exceed 30 years of age as of July 1st in the year of advertisement.
Qualification
A foundation degree in Engineering, Management, Pure Sciences, Agriculture Sciences, Medicine and Nursing, Social Sciences, or Humanities with a minimum of 60% marks or an equivalent grade.
One Child in a Family Award
Only one child from the same parents/guardians is eligible for the award. A self-certification from the candidate confirming this is required. Each individual can receive the award only once in their lifetime.
Countries Eligible
The scheme covers study destinations in the USA, UK, Australia, Canada, and Singapore.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Valid TOEFL/IELTS & GRE/GMAT scores.
- Admission confirmation from an accredited foreign university.
- Possession of a valid passport.
- Candidates must make their efforts to secure admission at an accredited university/institution abroad.
- Selected candidates must join the designated university within one year of selection; otherwise, the award will be canceled automatically without the possibility of an extension.
- The candidate cannot change the course of study for which the scholarship was granted.
- Obtaining the appropriate visa for the intended course of study is the candidate's responsibility, and it should only permit the specified course of study abroad with a return to India afterward.
- All applications should be complete and accompanied by all required documents; incomplete applications will not be considered.
Scholarship Amount
Fees: The fees will be paid in two instalments as follows:
Installment-I
An amount of 10.00 Lakhs will be payable to the institution/students upon production of the landing permit/I-94 card (Immigration Card).
Installment-II
An amount of 10.00 Lakhs will be payable to the institution/students upon production of the 1st-semester results.
Sanction proceedings specifying the total amount of 20.00 Lakhs will be issued to the individual as a grant for fees and living expenses, provided they join the course as selected by the Selection Committee. These sanction proceedings can be used to obtain a Visa from the respective Embassy.
Educational Loan
Students are eligible for an educational loan of 10.00 Lakhs from any Nationalized bank at prevailing rates of interest.
